MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Running Eagles (7-6, 3-0 SSAC) outpaced the Lady Eagles (1-8, 0-1 SSAC) and fought off a comeback late in the third set at Tine Davis Gymnasium on Friday evening. (14-25, 21-25, 28-30)

Life ran ahead with a 3-0 run in the first and never looked back. 

The second set featured a hard fought battle from the Lady Eagles with a 3-0 run late to bring the score within three. 

In the third set the Lady Eagles would not go out without a fight taking the lead early but when up by two, Life scored four consecutive points and took the lead for the first time in the frame. The Running eagles would close out the match in thrilling fashion with a final score of 30-28. 

Victoria Wheeler led the team with 9 kills and 3 blocks. Ellie Cyr racked up 13 assists while Mandi Hart totaled 10. 

Faulkner will continue SSAC play on Saturday at 1pm in Tine Davis Gymnasium against newly added SSAC foe Point.
