WEST POINT, Ga. - Faulkner shared the spoils with Point in the first meeting between the two in SSAC play after striking first as each team cashed in set pieces near the end line in a 1-1 draw Saturday on the road.
Elodie Metho headed home the opener off of
Ainsley Lockwood's back post corner kick delivery in the 15th minute. It was Metho's third goal of the season and has scored in three of the last four contests.
Faulkner kept knocking on the door but could not get past goalkeeper Kelly Rowland again, despite peppering the net with eight shots on goal in the second half. The 20 total shots was the second most of the season and the 11 shots on goal is the most in the six matches played thus far.
Point found the equalizer when a throw-in bounced into the box and was turned into the goal from the Skyhawks in the 71st minute.
Faulkner improves to 2-2-2 and 0-1-1 in SSAC play. The Lady Eagles will travel to Marietta, Ga. to take on Life Thursday afternoon.
