MARIETTA, Ga. - The Lady Eagles fell 5-1 as a couple of quick goal flurries from the Running Eagles put the game comfortably in the hands of the hosts Thursday night on the road in the SSAC Game of the Week.
Life started the scoring in the 10th minute as Lilja Bjorg Olaffsdottir opened the scoring then doubled the advantage just four minutes later. The Running Eagles would add one more before the interval in the 21st minute to take a 3-0 lead.Â
Life opened the second half with goals 12 seconds apart to thwart the comeback hopes.
Ainsley Lockwood scored a penalty in the dying moments of the match to give Faulkner something to build on. It was Lockwood's first goal of the season and eighth of her career.Â
Faulkner returns home to take on the Roadrunners Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
