MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner saw a slim second half lead slip as a hot-shooting Thomas Thursday evening handed the Eagles a 98-92 loss at Tine Davis Gymnasium in SSAC action.
Jonathan Garcia knocked down a jumper with 16:16 to play to take a 53-50 lead, but Thomas countered with a 7-0 run to pull away for good. Faulkner had a chance down the stretch, cutting the deficit to four with both 1:09 and 45 seconds to play but Thomas found timely buckets and free throws to seal it.  
The Night Hawks knocked down 13 triples to keep Faulkner at bay despite five Eagles in double figures led by Victor Muñoz's 19 point, 14 rebound double-double playing every second of the game. 
Sean McCurdy had 19 points as well with eight boards. 
Jayden Cooper added 18, Garcia 17 and 
J.C. Norris 10 with seven assists. 
R.J. Comer added all nine bench points. 
Faulkner fell to 8-9 overal and 3-6 in league play and currently occupy ninth in the SSAC standings.
The Eagles welcome Point to Montgomery Saturday at 2 p.m. for the SSAC Game of the Week.
