MOTGOMERY, Ala. – Falkner comes up short yet again despite shooting 48.6 percent from field goals and shooting 46.2 percent from behind the three-point line. Faulkner kept it close for majority of the game.
The Eagles went into the half only down 3 with the score being 49-46. The Knights took a 10-point lead in the second half with a three pointer from Pierles Brown. Throughout the remainder of the second half the Eagles battled back and forth with the Knights. The Eagles were able to bring it back within six points from a three from
Jayden Cooper at the 4:47 mark.
Unfortunately, Faulkner received a technical foul with 3:49 left to go, and from there the Eagles continued to lose by double digits until Victor Muñoz brought the deficit under 10 by making a layup with six seconds remaining on the clock.
Despite the loss the Eagles seen four players walk away with double digit scoring.
Jayden Cooper led the way with 27 points. Victor Muñoz added 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Sean McCurdy with 17 and
Jonathan Garcia had 16 to round out the leading scorers from the game.
The Eagles have now lost 7 games this season all within less than 10 points. They continue to battle every game but seem to run out of gas late.
Faulkner (9-11, 4-8 SSAC) returns to action Thursday when they face Loyola University (La.) at home on January 25 at 7:30 p.m.
