MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Six players scored in double figures for Faulkner as it parlayed a strong start into an 82-67 non-conference victory over Southeastern Monday. The final game of 2024 saw the Eagles use the strength of a dominant first half to put the game out of reach.
Faulkner opened the game hot on the offensive end and led by as many as 23 in the first half, aided in large part by a 25-10 advantage in the rebounding battle over the game's first 20 minutes. The Eagles shot a robust 46.9 percent from the floor during the period while limiting the Fire to 26.9 percent from the field.
Faulkner opened the second half on a 6-0 run to push the lead back to 23. After a Nathan Mikkelson layup at the 18:07 mark interrupted the run, consecutive baskets from
Jeffrey Selden and
Maliek Sadler moved the lead to 25. An 8-0 Eagle run between 15:07 and 13:54 set the advantage to its highest point at 28.
Faulkner won the rebounding battle 47-22 while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor and holding Southeastern to 38.1 percent from the field. K.J. Rogers topped the Eagles with 17 points and six rebounds.

Gabriel Rivera each finished with 13 points.
Joe Webster added 12 for Faulkner, matching his career high and marking his second consecutive game in double figures. Sadler ended the day with 10 points and nine rebounds while Selden notched 11 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and four blocked shots.
Faulkner (11-3, 2-1 SSAC) returns to SSAC action Saturday when it hosts No. 18 Mobile at 2 p.m.
