MOBILE, Ala. - Faulkner's three match unbeaten streak came to a close Thursday afternoon as the NCAA DII Spring Hill Badgers controlled the match statistically en route to a 3-0 Lady Eagle defeat at Library Field.
Faulkner fell behind in the sixth minute when Poppy Binding scored the opener. Keila Cardeiro made four first half saves to keep it a 1-0 game, but the equalizer could not be found in the first half.
The Lady Eagles had some chances to equalize, but the hosts doubled their lead in the 68th minute when Ellie King scored to make it 2-0. The Badgers added one more as a buzzer beater to make it 3-0.
Spring Hill outshot Faulkner 19-3 and allowed just one shot on goal from
Alessia Confalonieri.
Faulkner gets a 10 day break before traveling downtown to take on Alabama State for the third of a three match NCAA road trip and the last match before SSAC play opens September 19 against Brewton-Parker.
