THOMASVILLE, Ga. - Faulkner saw a lot of missed opportunities in a 2-0 loss Saturday afternoon against Thomas, putting eight shots on frame but unable to find the net at the TU Soccer Complex.
The two Night Hawk goals came just over four minutes apart when a bouncing corner from Sasha Manders found Madelyn Musgrove in the 17th minute and Jarica Lawrence finished her 21st minute chance to double the lead for the hosts on their senior day.
The Lady Eagles ramped up the pressure in the second half with six shots on frame, but could not find the finishing touch despite defensively holding Thomas to just three shots on frame after the two goals.
The Lady Eagles, however, clinched their spot in the SSAC Soccer Championship with the results around the league falling their way. Faulkner will need four points out of the final two matches to land in the six or seven seed.
The Lady Eagles wrap up the home schedule with No. 2 William Carey coming to town Thursday night at 5 p.m.
