JACKSON, Miss. - Faulkner battled with but fell just short of picking up the road result Tuesday night in a 2-1 loss at Belhaven.

The contest was very even at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium with both teams getting five shots on target with the Blazers striking first on a follow-up goal from Lauren Snell in the 9th minute.

Oluwatomisin Eludipo continued her impressive form, following up on her first collegiate brace Saturday with a long range worm-burner from 25 yards out after a great ball played in by Imara Nesbitt for the Bahamian's second assist in as many matches in the 44th minute.

In the 74th minute, Belhaven's Kinsey Carter intercepted a ball from the back and placed a great cross to Micah Benson who headed in the eventual match winner. 

Faulkner returns to SSAC play with Blue Mountain visiting Billy D. Hilyer Stadium Thursday night with senior day to take place 30 minutes before kickoff. Read Full Article
