DECATUR, Ala. - The Lady Eagles earned four first-team all-SSAC accolades from Chloe Davidson, Addyson Jarman, Madelyn Becker and Abby Terrell and a second-team honor from Anna Catherine Segrest. Faulkner also earned two all-freshman team awards from Jarman and Allie Wismer and two gold glove awards from Jarman and Reece Patterson. The night was also highlighted by Davidson earning the Player of the Year award and Addyson Jarman earning Freshman of the Year honors.
Davidson, a junior from Wetumpka, Alabama, leads the SSAC in batting average by nearly 30 points with a .486 as well as on base percentage at .537, again almost 30 points higher than anyone else in the league entering the postseason. She has nine three or more hit games on the season with only four hitless games across 39 appearances. She has scored a team high 50 runs. Davidson has 175 career hits to just 34 strikeouts with 36 walks drawn in 127 starts of 128 appearances in her third season. She became just the second Lady Eagle (Taylor Parker 2021) to win the SSAC Player of the Year award since 1999. She sees her name on the first team list for the third straight season.Â
Addyson Jarman racked up on the awards after a monstrous freshman campaign, highlighted by being selected as the Freshman of the Year. The freshman from Deatsville, Alabama also was named first-team all-SSAC, All-Freshman Team and the recipient of the centerfield gold glove honor for the league. Jarman's 52 RBIs leads the conference as well as a .418 batting average which ranks fourth. She totaled 112 total bases this season, ranking first in the SSAC and 19th in the nation. She opened her college career on a 20 game hit streak and struck out the same number of times that she hit a home run with eight a piece. Defensively, she carried a .988 fielding percentage with just one error but seven outfield assists to claim the gold glove. She became only the second Lady Eagle to be named Freshman of the Year joining Holly Miller in 2002.Â
Madelyn Becker joined the first team with a .414 batting average and an 1.140 OPS. "Beck" hit 17 extra base hits while drawing 13 walks while striking out just 11 times. The accolade marks the first time the junior from Eclectic, Alabama earned end of the season all-conference marks. She was a part of 110 outs this season defensively.
Abby Terrell earned her first honor on the first-team following a 2023 second-team and all-freshman team honor. Terrell hit .393 on the season with a .947 OPS. The junior from Brewton, Alabama drew 13 walks and struck out just five times. She boasts a career on base percentage of .431.Â
Anna Catherine Segrest joined the second team following her all-freshman performance last season. Segrest was a crucial part of the lineup, hitting .373 on the season and with 37 sacrifices on the season. The sophomore from Eclectic, Alabama's batting average this season is over 60 points better than her freshman campaign. She has been a part of 151 outs this season at shortstop.
Reece Patterson earned gold glove honors after a perfect fielding percentage in 36 chances in the circle. The Centre, Alabama native also had just four wild pitches this season. She is the first Faulkner pitcher to win the award since her assistant coach Meagan Schwieterman picked up the award for defense in the circle in 2021 and the third all-time, joining Caitlin Perry in 2019.Â
Allie Wismer hit .375 in her freshman regular season on 24 at bats. The Opp, Alabama native recorded hits in six of her seven starts. Wismer, along with Jarman, joins a line of Lady Eagles dating back to 2018 to have at least one representative on the all-freshman team. It is the third straight season with two all-freshman honors.Â
The Lady Eagles also won numerous all-academic and champions of character awards that will be detailed later.Â
