MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Eagles blew out the team that entered the night as the top team in the SSAC with a 94-61 belting of Brewton-Parker Thursday night at Tine Davis Gymnasium with a three-point barrage, knocking down 14 to control the entire second half.
With 2:45 to play in the first half, Brewton-Parker knocked down a three to tie it at 29.
Gabriel Rivera knocked down a second chance three to take the lead on the next possession.
Gideon Harris hit another three with 1:02 to go in the half to make it a six point lead.
Francois-Dony Baba knocked down another three with 40 seconds to go to pour it on with a nine-point burst. Faulkner got a chance with three seconds to go the length of the floor and
Kamal Green II did exactly that and shot a deep runner and knocked it home for an 11-0 run to close out the half and take a 40-29 advantage into half.Â
The Eagles scored the first six of the second half to balloon the lead to 17 and the rout was on with a 19-4 run to open the half, shooting 6-6 from the floor and 3-3 from deep and connecting on all four free throws by the first media timeout making a 30-4 run over a seven minute span.Â
The Eagles led by as much as 35 and scored nearly 30 more than BPC's average given up on the season as six Eagles hit double figures with all five starters at or above 10 points.Â
Tanner Vogel led the team with a 17 point, 15 rebound double-double featuring seven offensive rebounds and eight defensive. He shot 7-7 from the stripe.
Gabriel Rivera went 5-9 from three for his 15 points. Green scored 14, Harris added 12, Turner-Durley 11 and Rogers 10. Turner-Durley led the team with six assists and Rogers added four.
Ahmad Johnson played the final 1:53 and collected three steals to tie Rogers for the team lead.Â
The Eagles improved to 12-6 overall and 6-2 in SSAC play. Faulkner sits in a 3 way tie for second in the SSAC overall and tied for second in the West Division.Â
