Sutton signs three-year contract to lead Faulkner athletics

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner University announced Tuesday morning that Reed Sutton has signed a three-year contract to serve as the university's Vice President of Athletics and Athletic Director. Sutton, who arrived at Faulkner in 2010 to launch the women's basketball program, stepped into the Interim Athletic Director role in June 2025.

During his coaching tenure with the Eagles, Sutton served 14 seasons atop the women's basketball program and led it to a 259-177 career record. While serving as Assistant Athletic Director, Sutton vacated the women's basketball job to help stabilize the men's and women's cross-country programs, serving as head coach for Faulkner's runners for one year.

Since taking the helm of the Faulkner athletic department, Sutton has led the coaching searches for golf, cross-country, and cheerleading while also proving instrumental in finalizing the contract for Dayne Brown, who signed a deal in December 2025 to lead the school's football program for the next three years.
