WEST POINT, Miss. - The Eagles battled a couple of challenging courses in stacked fields with the Men's team finishing 10th out of 16 and the women's individuals finishing in a logjammed field of 16 golfers at the BMCU Spring Invite.
The two courses saw the men average a score of 80.14 per round with the women's course playing at an 86.75 average.
Leo Testas continued his strong spring, finishing ninth with an 11-over-par score over the three rounds at Mossy Oak GC, defeating eight of the top 150 golfers in the NAIA. Testas's tournament was paced by a two-over-par second round.
Ernest Juglar finished 18-over-par for 25th place in the field of 88.
Garrett Jurkofsky finished 21-over in 35th,
Mac Moorer 33-over in 66th and
Juan Cespedes and
Lucas Nicola finishing 39 and 44-over, respectively.
Shelby Hughes led the women's side for Faulkner at Old Waverly with a 50-over-par finish in 40th place with a consistent event, carding a 17-over first, 16-over second, and 17-over third.
Eden Shipp got better each round, ending with a 65-over-par finish in 65 cutting five shots off her first to third round.
The teams turn their attention to the SSAC Golf Championships. The men take the course at RTJ Cambrian Ridge on April 13-15 with the women concluding their season April 20-22 at the same course in Greenville, Ala.
