Faulkner sees best Learfield Directors' Cup finish in over a decade

CLEVELAND - Faulkner saw a 90 place improvement from last season in the Learfield Directors' Cup, finishing 80th of 187 ranked teams and 235 total NAIA institutions. The Directors' Cup awards points based on the performance and finish of each team in the athletic department.

The Eagles see their highest ranking since 2012-2013 when the baseball team won the national championship and had multiple other national tournament appearances across the sports to finish 44th. Faulkner has only finished in the top 100 four times since 2004.

Faulkner picked up points from Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball and Baseball making the national tournament with more points added by the runs made by Men's Basketball to the Round of 16 and Softball to the Opening Round Championship game.

Faulkner finished fifth in the Southern States Athletic Conference, just one place behind Dalton State nationally, improving on last year's 12th place finish in the SSAC. It's the highest finish in the conference since 2022.
