MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner University and Head Football Coach
Dayne Brown reached an agreement on a three-year contract that will keep him in place through the 2028 season. Brown took over the program in January 2025 and was immediately tasked with outfitting a coaching staff that had just one holdover and a roster that boasted some 40 players. He led the Eagles to a 4-6 record in his first campaign, the best mark for the program since 2022.

We feel God has blessed us by bringing us to Montgomery to be a part of this campus community and are appreciative of AD Reed Sutton, Chief of Staff Rick Boutwell, and President Mitch Henry for the faith and trust they are placing in us. We are prayerful that this contract reflects to everyone a deep commitment from all sides to continue moving forward with our main goal of developing young people to be the best versions of themselves both on and off the field. We will all continue our work to positively impact every person at Faulkner University."
Faulkner University Athletic Director Reed Sutton
"We are excited to welcome in 2026 with a finalized three-year contract with our Head Football Coach,
Dayne Brown. We believe that this shows appreciation for the solid foundation and team culture that he and his staff are building. It also shows an administrative commitment to continuity in our football program that we hope translates into all of the programs in our department. We believe winning at Faulkner is a by-product of keeping great teaching coaches that fit Faulkner University's Christian principles. In a time of volatility in college football, this is a great move toward having stability for our coaching staff, our current student-athletes, and for our recruits. We appreciate Coach Brown and are excited about his ability to lead our football program into the future. Thank you to President Mitch Henry and Chief of Staff General Rick Boutwell for their commitment to the future of the football program."
