GREENVILLE, Ala. - Faulkner dominated the field at the Camella City Invitational, placing four individuals tied for second and winning the event by 10 strokes over four conference rivals at RTJ Cambrian Ridge, the site of the SSAC Men's Golf Championship in April, turning in an 18-over-par 882.
The Eagles, ranked No. 19 in the first edition of the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Poll for the 2026-27 season, saw themselves 17 shots out of first after the first round Monday and in fifth place. The second round flipped the script led by
Lucas Nicola's five-under-par 67 as the team shot four-under, 12 shots better than the next best team, even with
Mac Moorer's four-under-par second round not counting towards the team total with the sophomore competing as an individual, to close the gap behind Point to three strokes going into Tuesday and in second place.
Tuesday also belonged to the Eagles, shooting eight shots better than the next best side on the day William Carey. Faulkner shot 13 strokes better than the Skyhawks to coast in with a double-digit shot victory.
Nicola and Moorer tied
Adam Carreyn and
Leo Testas in second with a three-over-par 219 on the Sherling and Canyon courses. The second place finish is the highest in Nicola, Moorer, and Carreyn's career and marks the fifth straight top three for Testas.
Ernest Juglar finished tied for 17th at 13-over-par.
Noah Costello finished tied for 32nd with a 22-over-par.
Judson Graham placed 37th at 25-over-par.
The Eagles conclude the fall season and head into the spring with a top-20 ranking that will likely improve in the next poll coming out Friday.
