Faulkner places third in Firehawk Fall Invitational

ATHENS, Ala. - Faulkner Men's Golf impressed Monday and Tuesday in the Firehawk Fall Invitational at the Canebrake Club with two top five finishes to place tied for third in the 13 team field shooting a three-over-par 867 over three rounds. 

Leo Testas continued his unreal run of top-five finishes, tying for second at four-under-par with a 212. It was the fifth time in his last seven tournaments placing in the top five. He held tied for the lead after the first round at four-under before a second round one-over was canceled out by a third round one-under to end just one shot off the title. 

Adam Carreyn made an immediate impression, tying for fifth with a two-under par finish, going one-under and three-under in his first day to be in the lead going into Tuesday in his first collegiate event. He carded 12 birdies in the tournament. 

Mac Moorer got better each round, turning in a five-over-par finish to place 23rd out of 72 golfers going four-over-par, one-over-par and even-par in his three rounds.

Judson Graham placed tied for 31st with a seven-over-par finish for his best ever three-round-score, besting his performance in the season opener by 11 shots-to-par with an even-par second with two birdies and 15 pars.

Lucas Nicola's second round fueled his event with a two-under-par as he finished tied for 33rd with an eight-over-par for his best to-par finish in a three round event.

Faulkner turns its attention to a loaded field of 20 teams, 19 of which are NAIA, at the Invite at Innisbrook with No. 1 Keiser, No. 3 Dalton State, No. 5 Webber International, No. 5 Reinhardt, No. 9 Coastal Georgia, No. 12 Wayland Baptist, No. 14 Science and Arts, No. 16 Blue Mountain, No. 17 Grand View, No. 21 William Carey and No. 23 Southeastern all competing on a PGA Tour course Sept. 28-29 in Palm Harbor, Fla.
