MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner Athletics is happy to announce Meghan Schwieterman as Athletics Operations Manager, filling a new role in the athletic department. In this role, Schwieterman will oversee athletic event management, such as hospitality for officials and visiting teams, gameday parking and ticketing services, as well as financial compliance and scholarship administration.
The hiring is a promotion for Schwieterman, a two-time Faulkner alum, who previously wore multiple hats overseeing scholarships, compliance, budgets and operations as Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director from 2023-26 and Facilities Coordinator this past school year. In addition, she served as Assistant Softball Coach the last two seasons for the program she pitched for, including a run to the NAIA Softball Championship Opening Round this past spring, working primarily with the pitchers while managing travel logistics and equipment as well as assisting with recruiting and social media.
"I'm honored to step into a leadership role within the athletic department while performing a lot of the duties I've done in the past, to help give back to the current student-athletes here at Faulkner," Schwieterman said of her new job.
In spring 2026, she mentored pitchers Reece Patterson, Lana Atkins, Addison Moseley, Abrianna Davis and Chloe Davidson to a combined 2.64 ERA, including a career-best 1.47 for Patterson. It was the lowest team ERA for the program since Schwieterman's senior year in 2022, when she led the pitching staff with a 1.49 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, 111 strikeouts and a .199 batting average against. She also coached pitchers as a Graduate Assistant for the program from 2022-23.
Schwieterman transferred into Faulkner after two years of JUCO ball at Wallace State-Hanceville where she carried a 2.21 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, a 41-12 record and 273 strikeouts across 346 innings pitched as a Lion and playing the COVID-affected 2020 season in NCAA Division II at Montevallo. As a Lady Eagle pitcher from 2021-22, she logged a 2.68 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP and 165 strikeouts across 198 innings pitched on the way to being named to the 2022 All-SSAC Second Team and the 2021 SSAC Gold Glove Team for a perfect fielding percentage. She finished her Faulkner career with an 18-13 overall record and a save against LSU-Alexandria as a senior.
A native of Guntersville, Ala., Schwieterman holds an Associate of Science degree from Wallace-Hanceville, a Bachelor of Science from Faulkner as a double major in Exercise Science and Business Administration in 2022 and a Master of Science in Management from Faulkner in 2023.
