Yo Edrien! Martínez named Third Team All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Edrien Martínez added another accolade to his decorated 2026 season–All-American. The third baseman earned third team honors as announced by the NAIA national office Thursday.

Martínez hit .422 over the season with a 1.339 OPS. The Puerto Rican hit 81 times through the season with 19 home runs, 17 doubles and a triple and reached base in 33 straight games to close out the year and reached base safely in 52 of the 54 contests this year for a .521 on base percentage. He drew 51 walks including eight directly intentional walks over the season.

In conference play, he hit .462 with a 1.446 OPS and a .913 slugging percentage. He hit a home run in every SSAC series except one for 11 total. 24 of his 48 hits were for extra bases.

Martínez's home run total tied him for third most in our currently recorded Faulkner baseball history. His .818 slugging percentage was eighth best in the NAIA.

Martínez is the 25th All-American, either on a team or honorable mention, under Patrick McCarthy's time at Faulkner that started in 2010.
