MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner took a lead into halftime but fell to two early second half goals by Thomas in a 2-1 loss Saturday afternoon at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium in an SSAC matchup.
Thomas created a few more chances early but only one really good look from the Night Hawks missing before the hydration break. However, the first shot on target of the day found the back of the net as
Gabriela Garzon Valero found
Cassie Jackson who fired home a left footed rocket for her third goal of the weekend.Â
After the first half that saw just seven total shots between the teams, Thomas found the tying goal with a clinical counter attack in the 54th minute tied the match before a perfect free kick from the Night Hawks seven minutes later proved to be the difference.Â
Faulkner saw several corner opportunities late but could not convert them into chances as the Lady Eagles fell to 2-7-2 on the year and 1-5 in the SSAC.
Faulkner wraps up the five game homestand Saturday against Mobile at 4:30 p.m.
