MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner batted around in a 7-run, sixth-inning explosion to earn a come-from-behind 8-4 victory over Lindsey Wilson here Wednesday afternoon at Harrison Field.

The Eagles (23-8), ranked No. 8 in the NAIA poll, trailed the Blue Raiders (13-9) 2-1 entering the bottom of the decisive inning. Daniel Cayton tied the game with an RBI double, then Matt Parker, John Gunnels and Brook Boudreaux all drove in runs with base hits. Both Parker's and Boudreaux's hits were drag bunts. Brennan Olive drew a bases-loaded walk later in the inning, and Matt Creel finished off the big frame with a run-scoring single.

Nathan Prokuski pitched well for the Eagles through five, but struggled in the sixth, failing to get an out. Casey Wilson pitched 2 1/3 innings of effective relief to earn the victory, allowing two runs, while Damon Porter closed it out with 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

For the game, Faulkner pounded out 12 hits, playing its third game in a row without Craig Massey, one of its most productive performers at the plate. The Eagles were also impressive in the field, not committing an error.

"We really played solid baseball today, with some great base-running and bunting," Faulkner head coach Patrick McCarthy said. "We had good pitching from all three guys and we played well in the field behind them. The guys have done a good job picking up Massey, who's still struggling with a hamstring injury."

Faulkner hosts Belhaven in a key Southern States Athletic Conference series this weekend at Harrison Field. The first game is scheduled for Friday night at 6.
