Walk-off homer lifts Lindsey Wilson past Faulkner 9-8

COLUMBIA, Ky. - Lindsey Wilson's Mitchell Osnowitz blasted a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning here Wednesday afternoon, lifting the Blue Raiders to a dramatic walk-off 9-8 victory over Faulkner at Egnew Park.

The Eagles were on top most of the way, but Lindsey Wilson kept battling back, erasing deficits of 3-0, 4-2, 7-5 and the 8-7 lead Faulkner took to the bottom of the final inning. Eagles' reliever Tyler Carter coasted through the eighth inning and retired the first two batters of the ninth before Manuel Ozoria doubled just ahead of Osnowitz's game-winner.

Faulkner (25-8) pounded out 17 hits in the game, but left a whopping 15 runners stranded. Seven Eagles had multiple hits in the game, with Sergio Sanchez leading the way with two hits and four RBIs, including a home run. Zak Colby and Ethan Williams had three hits apiece for Faulkner, while Brook Boudreaux, Michael Cruz, David Bishop and Luis Sanchez added hits each. With the victory, 12th-ranked Lindsey Wilson handed No. 9 Faulkner its fourth loss in its last six games.

Faulkner travels to New Orleans this weekend for a three-game Southern States Athletic Conference series with Loyola. Friday's first game begins at 6 p.m.
