MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After a relatively even-tempoed, but scoreless first half, Martin Methodist opened the flood gates here at John Mark Stallings Field. The visitors outshot Faulkner 33-to-3 in the event and shook the net four times in the second half to claim the Southern States Athletic Conference victory 4-0.

Michael Fulton was the weapon of choice for the Redhawks in the second half. The freshman forward accounted for three of the four goals and was the first to break the scoring silence.

Three minutes into the half Didier Atse forced Martin Methodist's Rain Hooper hard to the goal line, but a brilliant cross found Fulton just outside the back side post who headed it in for the go-ahead goal.

The Redhawks then connected on two more goals in under six minutes.

Jonathan Remond dropped a corner kick into play four minutes later and Juan Madigal headed the ball inside the near post to advance the lead.

Just two minutes later Fulton took possession through the middle and powered his way through the back line with a high canon ball that dinged the back corner post for the score.

The final goal of the outing came in the 72nd minute when Atse mishit the ball giving Fulton a chance to make good on the high bounce.

Faulkner looked as if it was finally going to ignite the scoreboard when Paul Oberkor was taken down in the box. Brighton Masuka took the ensuing penalty kick for the Eagles, but sent the bullet wide left of the frame.

Pritchard Ndaira (1-6-1) had eight saves and allowed four goals in the loss.

Faulkner dropped to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the league. The Eagles will travel to No. 13 Bethel (Tenn.) for another SSAC matchup on Saturday at 3 p.m.
