Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner and Middle Georgia State traded goals in regulation and battled through a pair of scoreless overtimes before this afternoon's Southern States Athletic Conference settled as a draw 1-1 here at John Mark Stallings Field.
The Knights took the lead in the 37th minute when Carlos Sandoval-Blanco connected on a Mattias Rosell assist.
Faulkner's Gnande Zleh then collected a deflected shot off a corner effort in the 62nd minute and fired it into the backside netting to move the game into a tie.
Goalkeeper Pritchard Ndaira did an outstanding job for the home team in preventing another Middle Georgia lead when he tallied three athletic saves deep in the second period.
Faulkner had numerous opportunities to break the stalemate both in regulation and extended play, but ultimately came up short.
Ndaira (5-3-2) had four saves and allowed a single goal in the tie.
Faulkner moved to 5-3-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the league. The Eagles next host cross-town and conference nemesis AUM at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18.
