MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Belhaven struck once in each half of tonight's Southern States Athletic Conference match while holding Faulkner to just a single goal to earn the 2-1 victory here at John Mark Stallings Field.

Cillian Thompson capitalized on a Jose Presti pass just over four minutes into the game to put the visitors (10-5/3-4 SSAC) in front.

A Faulkner defensive effort backfired when Brighton Masuka inadvertantly pocketed a goal in the home netting six minutes into the second half to extend the Belhaven lead.

Alex Stutts finally put the Eagles on the board with just over two minutes to play when he rocked a diving header by the keeper on a brilliant cross from Jeff Ransom.

Pritchard Ndaira (5-7-2) suffered the loss allowing one goal and securing three saves in just eight minutes of play.

Diego da Silva was in net for the remainder of the outing and allowed the second goal while tallying six saves.

Faulkner dropped to 5-7-2 overall and 1-5-1 in the league. The Eagles close out the regular season at home against No.25 William Cary on Saturday at 7 p.m. The seniors will be honored in a special pregame ceremony.
