Box Score 2 PULASKI, Tenn. - Faulkner overcame and early deficit and catapulted itself into a 7-3 Game 1 victory over host school Martin Methodist with a three-run seventh inning effort here this afternoon. The RedHawks returned the favor in the second event, however, riding a six-run sixth inning to a 7-4 win.
Mattie Dotson (1-0) made her season debut from the circle in the opener and gave up seven hits and allowed three earned runs while striking out three in the complete game effort.
Chelsey Dunnaway (1-1) suffered the loss in the nightcap despite allowing only three hits and a single earned run in just under six innings of work. The senior had five strikeouts.
Hayden Strickland finished things out in Game 2 and gave up two hits and no earned runs.
Abbie Pierce and Tia Rogers were each 2-for-3 in Game 1 and accounted for two RBIs and run and an RBI respectively.
Hannah Qualls and Keri Hyde were each 2-for-4 and Qualls added a run. Avery Mott knocked in a pair of runs and scored in the opener.
Amanda Seales was the offensive weapon of choice for the Lady Eagles in Game 2. The sophomore went 4-for-4 with two home runs and ultimately tallied three RBIs and scored twice.
Emily Byrd was 2-for-3.
Faulkner moved to 2-2 on the year and will next face Birmingham Southern in a road series on Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.
