BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Faulkner's pitching crew held Birmingham Southern to a pair of runs on just seven hits, while the Lady Eagles generated 15 runs on 20 hits en route to 7-1 and 8-1 victories here in this afternoon's doubleheader.

Mattie Dotson (2-0) was nothing short of impressive from the circle in Game 1. The junior gave up only three hits and no earned runs while putting away five batters at the plate in five innings of work.

Natalie Walker, who's been working her way back from some throwing irritation, took over in the sixth and allowed two hits and no earned runs while tallying four strikeouts.

Faulkner's offense was equally impressive with a 14-hit performance in the opener.

Keri Hyde was a consistent 3-for-4 and scored, while teammates Tia Rogers and Abbie Pierce were each 2-for-3 with three and one RBIs respectively.

Chelsey Dunnaway (2-1) secured the complete game win in the night cap and allowed one earned run on a pair of hits while logging three strikeouts.

Sophie Slemp was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run in Game 2, while Amanda Seales and Hannah Qualls each accounted for a hit and had two and one RBIs respectively.

Faulkner improved to 4-2 overall and will host Martin Methodist in a non-conference doubleheader Saturday at Wynn Field. Game 1 is set to begin at 2 p.m.
