Box Score DALTON, Ga. - Faulkner and Dalton State bookended regulation with goals in the extreme minutes, but it was the home team that ultimately sealed the 2-1 Southern States Athletic Conference victory with a game-wining strike in double overtime on Saturday.
Tomide Adabale put the Roadrunners on the board in less than two minutes when he connected at the net on an assist from Tyler Hudson.
It wasn't until the 87th minute that Faulkner was able to answer off the foot of Rodrigo Doben. Mehdi Himmich logged the assist.
The stalemate carried through the first overtime and into the second when Adabale again found his way around the goalkeeper for the winning goal in the 104th minute.
Diego da Silva (5-3-1) had a save and allowed both goals in the loss.
Faulkner fell to 5-4-1 overall and 0-2 in the league. The Eagles have a week of rest before traveling to cross-town rival Auburn Montgomery for SSAC action on Saturday at 3 p.m.
