MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Faulkner struck early with a three-run first inning and coasted to a 12-1 victory over Reinhardt here Tuesday on a cold and breezy afternoon at Harrison Field.

Randy Joung, Dennis Morton and Edgar Figueroa each had three hits to pace the Eagles (11-1). Joung had a pair of RBIS, while Morton added a two-run homer and a double. Figueroa scored twice for Faulkner, which enjoyed three more three-run innings – the third, the sixth and the seventh.

Vinny Lujan (1-0) allowed just two hits in six innings of work, with Reinhardt scoring its only run in the top of the fourth inning. Patrick McGrady didn't allow a base runner in the seventh and eighth innings. Brian Bass closed it out by striking out the side in the ninth.

Faulkner hosts Blue Mountain this weekend in a three-game Southern States Athletic Conference series. Game 1 is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 3 at Harrison Field.
