MONTGOMERY, Ala.-  William Carey, which is currently receiving votes at the national level, blanked Faulkner 1-0 tonight in a Southern States Athletic Conference showdown here at John Mark Stallings Field.

The Crusaders' (6-1-1) Matt Redgrave knocked a diving header in off a corner kick from Joaquin Ruiz Cabello in the 22nd minute for the lone score of the outing.

The Eagles' (5-4) second half looked promising, but the breakthrough moment never came as Faulkner was kept off the scoreboard for the third consecutive game.

Diego da Silva (5-4) collected three saves, including a penalty kick stop, and allowed the goal in the loss.

The Eagles will next face Dalton State in Dalton, Ga., on October 13 at 6:30 p.m. central.
