MOUNT VERNON, Ga. - Victor de Sousa's goal in the 85th minute lifted Faulkner (7-6, 2-4 SSAC) over Southern States Athletic Conference opponent Brewton-Parker (3-11, 0-6 SSAC) here this afternoon.

The decisive moment came when Evens Alcide pressured the Barons' goalkeeper, drawing him out of the box. The keeper misplayed the ball that fell to de Sousa who calmly rolled it into the net for the win. 

Faulkner placed three balls on target in six attempts in the outing.

Diego da Silva recorded four saves in his clean sheet victory for the Eagles.

"It's huge for bench players to be impact players," head coach Kyle Beard said after the game. "We knew Victor was capable and he stepped up for the winning goal to get a road win."

Faulkner will host Middle Georgia State (9-6-1, 3-3 SSAC) in SSAC action in the regular season finale at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium Saturday at 7:30 pm.
