MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After rolling Montreat 8-0 in an abbreviated game earlier this afternoon, Faulkner capped the day with a 5-1 decision over Reinhardt College here in the Faulkner/AUM Invitational at Wynn Field this evening.

Reinhardt (4-2) claimed a 1-0 lead in its first trip to the plate, but the offensive threat stopped there. The Lady Eagles answered just moments later when Makenzie Anthony scored from first base on a Jessica Butterworth double.

The 1-1 stalemate held until the third inning when Faulkner crept into the lead on a bases-loaded error at third base. Holli Brooks then extended the gain with a two-RBI double two batters later.

The final run of the outing was tallied on a fielder's choice in the fifth.

Emma Cornell (1-0) scattered five hits over seven innings while securing four strikeouts and allowing an earned run.

Anthony, who was just shy of perfect on the day, went 2-for-3 and scored three of the team's five runs.

Hannahlee Harris went 2-for-4 while Brooks and Butterworth each logged a hit and drove in three and two runs respectively. Butterworth also scored.

Faulkner (2-2) will conclude Invitational play tomorrow afternoon. The Lady Eagles host Freed-Hardeman and Point at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.
