Webber International takes down Faulkner 2-0

Box Score

by Carter Moles

BABSON PARK, Fla.- Fatigue seemed to catch up to the Eagles as a flat performance here today led to a 2-0 defeat to Webber International. Playing their fourth game in 15 days, the Eagles (5-2)  were unable to finish chances in the attacking third.

The Warriors (2-2-1) struck first in the 54th minute when Driss Baraket was able to get a rebound shot past keeper Diego da Silva after making the initial save.

The home team scored again when Reiss Ligget converted a penalty kick high and down the middle with six minutes to play.

Faulkner looked sharper in the final five minutes, but was unable to convert on opportunities inside the box.

The Eagles put nine shots on target in 17 attempts, while Webber placed 11 of its 15 attempts on frame.

Da Silva (5-2) tallied 9 saves in the loss.

The Eagles will complete their five game road series against Life University in Marietta, Ga. at 6 pm on Sunday.
