MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After a slow start, Faulkner's women's basketball team (7-0) was able to pull away from Selma University and get the 71-42 win at home.
The Lady Eagles only led by four points at the end of the first quarter, but they went to their full-court pressure defense to begin the second period, and that caused a lot of trouble for the visitors.
Faulkner was able to force 32 turnovers in the game, and they converted that into 32 points.
Brandy Alley led the way for the Lady Eagles with 13 points and fell just shy of a double-double with seven rebounds.
Nicole Shirley was the only other Faulkner player to finish with double-digit points with 11. She also added seven rebounds and five steals to her tally.
Savana Flack finished with a court-high 11 rebounds alongside seven points.
The Lady Eagles will take on Stillman College on Thursday at Tine Davis Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
