BEAUFORT, S.C. - Faulkner (2-4) suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to No. 16 Reinhardt (Ga.) (2-2) to open Day 2 of the Southeastern Challenge before Bryan (Tenn.) (3-5) iced the the Lady Eagles with a 5-0 no-hitter here this afternoon.

A pair of RBI singles in the fourth inning gave Reinhardt the 2-0 lead in Game 1 this morning, but Faulkner responded with solo homers from Alicia Richardson and Shelby Brown in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively, to tie the contest.

The Lady Eagles then slipped into a one-run advantage in the top of the seventh on a Maegan Stanfield single up the middle.

Reinhardt fired back in its final at-bat, however, clinching the win behind RBIs on a triple and single.

Emma Cornell (1-1) scattered nine hits and four earned runs over 6 2/3 innings in the loss.

Stanfield and Bailee Trotter were the only Lady Eagles with multiple hits on the day and both batters were 2-for-4 against Reinhardt.

Bryan capitalized with five runs on five hits, an outfield error and a wild pitch in the top of the second inning to book the lion's share of its runs. The final score was tallied on an error in the seventh.

While the Faulkner defense came unraveled in a costly single inning its offense did little to help offset the deficit. 

Bryan's Courtney Petty kept the Lady Eagle bats quiet with a complete game no-hitter. She also walked just one batter and struck out three others.

Hayden Strickland (0-1) suffered the second loss after giving up four earned runs on five hits in 1 2/3 innings of work from the circle.

Caitlin Perry threw the remainder of the outing and allowed five hits while striking out four at the plate.

Faulkner will close out the three-day of the Challenge with a brutal set against No. 8 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) tomorrow at 9 a.m. and No. 12 Campbellsville (Ky.) at 11:30.
