Faulkner sweeps Stillman

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Second-ranked Faulkner (12-1) took down Stillman College (2-11) 6-1 (7) in today's doubleheader opener before cruising to a sweep with a 10-3 (7) victory in the followup event here this afternoon.

 

Kolby Green (1-0) gave up just a single earned run in the Game 1 win while scattering five hits over as many innings and logging three strikeouts.

 

Jose Agosto held the mound for the final two innings and allowed just one hit.

 

T.J. Condon went 2-for-2 in the opener with a pair of RBIs and runs.

 

The second game victory went to starting pitcher Tyler Tungate (1-0) who allowed two earned runs on eight hits while booking two strikeouts in five innings of work from the mound.

 

Dustin Hagy and Jonathan Wilkins each secured an inning of action, respectively, and Wilkins allowed two hits and an earned run while striking out a batter.

 

Eagles with multiple hits in Game 2 included Tra'mayne Holmes, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs.

 

Wes Roberson was a perfect 2-for-2 and scored three runs while driving in another and Reid Long was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.

 

Faulkner will next travel to LSU-Alexandria for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend. The opening pitch in the Friday series is set for 3 p.m.
