Box Score 2 ALEXANDRIA, La. - Second-ranked Faulkner (16-1) secured its second consecutive sweep of LSU-Alexandria (9-7) here in this afternoon's doubleheader with wins if 5-2 and 14-4.
Braden Olive (2-0), who pitched nearly two innings in mid-game relief yesterday against the Generals, earned the Game 1 win while allowing just one earned run on three hits in six innings of work. The left-hander also had seven strikeouts.
Jonathan Wilkins gave up a single hit and booked a strikeout in the close.
The Eagle offense was anchored heavily by T.J. Condon's three-run, third-inning bomb. Condon had four RBIs and scored twice in the series.
An eight-run fourth inning courtesy of seven Faulkner hits and three General errors in Game 2 ushered in nearly 60 percent of the visitor's runs.
Faulkner had 18 hits in the second event with six Eagles hitting .667 or better.
Chance Willard and Michael Darr were both 2-for-2 in the second game. Willard had three RBIs and runs and Darr logged one of each.
John Price was a nightmare for LSU-Alexandria in the series. The senior went 6-for-10 on the day with two RBIs and runs.
Olivier Basabe was 4-for-6 over the two outings and drove in a run and scored.
Mike Peters (2-0) was also lights out from the mound allowing just two hits while tallying four strikeouts in five shutout innings of the Game 2 win.
Junior Ramirez surrendered three earned runs on four hits in the sixth inning before Jose Agosto closed up shop with a no-hit seventh inning from the mound.
Faulkner will next travel to Talladega to take on the Tornadoes in doubleheader action beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
