Box Score PULASKI, Tenn. - Faulkner (24-3) tallied hits in all but the eighth inning en route to an 11-2 victory over Southern States Athletic Conference foe Martin Methodist here this afternoon.
Designated hitter T.J. Condon wore the title well and set the pace for the afternoon with a solo homer in the first inning. The senior continued to cause problems for the RedHawk defense throughout the event going an impressive 4-for-5 with three runs and a pair of RBIs.
The home team scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the same inning, but the Eagle bats quickly severed the stalemate, putting the contest out of reach for Martin Methodist.
While the Faulkner offense was accumulating runs, Ivan Pelaez (6-1) had the diamond on lock down. The senior left-hander allowed just three hits and a single earned run while striking out seven batters over 6 1/3 innings in the win.
Junior Ramirez booked three strikeouts while giving up one earned run on two hits in the close effort.
Tra'mayne Holmes was 2-for-2 and Reid Long was 2-for-3 and both hitters drove in a run and scored.
Ryan Rosa hit .500 on the day and scored twice.
Faulkner and Martin Methodist conclude the three-game series with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at noon.
