MARIETTA, Ga. - The Faulkner men's soccer team (4-0-1) put together their third straight shutout in a 2-0 win against the Eagles of Life University (3-3).

The Faulkner Eagles' offense put the pressure on Life's defense early, taking three shots inside the first ten minutes. The visiting Eagles finally broke through that wall in the 44th minute when senior forward Jarom Farnsworth scored his fifth goal of the season.

Life had chances to tie the game in the second half, but Faulkner's defense, led by freshman goalkeeper Caio Calado (4-0-1) was just too much for the home Eagles. Calado finished the game with four saves.

Faulkner would put the game away in the 87th minute when Victor de Souza scored on a counter attack after defender Felipe de Almeida made a clutch save on the goal line, blocking the potential tying score.

Faulkner's next match is on Sept. 16 when they take on Georgia Southwestern at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
