Faulkner blasts Stillman in season-opening series

The bats were hot for the No. 2 Eagles (2-0) as they defeated Stillman College (0-5) 12-3 and 14-0 respectively in their opening matchups on Tuesday evening at Harrison Field.

 

Game one was highlighted by a two-run homerun hit by Austin Paschke in the bottom of the fifth inning, his first of the season, which gave Faulkner a 9-3 lead.

 

Tyler Thornton (1-0) started the game for the Eagles and received the win after throwing for two innings and recording four strikeouts.

 

Faulkner was very efficient in game two of the double header, scoring their 14 runs on 18 hits.

 

Te'kwaan Whyte, T.J. Riles and Gage West each had three runs batted in.

 

Jake Kolterman (1-0) got the start on the mound and received the win with two strikeouts in two innings pitched.

 

The Eagles will take on Cumberland University on Friday at Harrison Field. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
