by Taylor Hodges

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Lady Eagles softball team (1-0) scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take out Stillman College 7-3 on Saturday afternoon.

The game was tied 1-1 after Hannahlee Harris scored the first run of the game off of a wild throw.

Stillman would score two in the third before the Lady Eagles would answer in the top of the fourth inning when Taylor Nelson scored on a fielder's choice and tied the game in the fifth inning when Shelbie Burbage scored off of a Kayla Gravatt single down the left field line.

The sixth inning went scoreless by both teams, but the seventh inning was all Faulkner as they were able to score four runs to put the game out of reach.

The final inning was highlighted by a Harris triple down the right field line which brought Nelson in to score. Harris, Gravatt and Abbigail Barron also scored in the inning.

Harris went 3-for-5 in the ball game, scoring two runs and bringing in one.

Gravatt went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

The Lady Eagles were set to play in a second game, but it was cancelled due to weather. They will travel to West Point, Georgia on February 20 when they take on Point University in a double header. Game one is set to start at 2 p.m. central.
