Box Score 2 TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Top-ranked Faulkner (25-2) plowed through Stillman College (6-13) 12-3 and 7-3 here in this afternoon's non-conference doubleheader.
The Eagles overpowered the Tigers in the opener after hanging 10 of their 12 runs over the fourth and sixth innings.
Faulkner booked four runs in the fourth thanks to a pair of walks and two hit batters all in a cycling loaded-bases situation.
The Eagles' five-run sixth was anchored by Austin Paschke's three-run homer followed by Brady Hamilton's two-run shot.
Braden Olive (3-0) allowed three earned runs on four hits while striking out seven batters over 4 2/3 innings of work in the win.
Paschke was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs.
Gage West hit .500, scored twice and knocked in a run.
Game 2 featured a slow and methodical attack by Faulkner with dual runs tallied in the first, fifth and sixth innings.
Evan Gillespie (3-0) gave up three earned runs on eight hit he scattered over 4 2/3 innings. He also had three strikeouts in the victory.
Jacob Freeland was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and run in the nightcap and Rusber Estrada hit .500 and drove in a run.
Faulkner next travels to New Orleans to take on Loyola in Southern States Athletic Conference action this weekend. Game 1 of the three-game series is set for 6 p.m. on Friday.
