GULF SHORES, Ala. - Faulkner (9-2) capitalized on a bases-loaded infield error in the bottom of the first inning to edge Freed-Hardeman (5-3) 1-0 here in Game 2 of the annual Gulf Shores Invitational this afternoon.

Emma Cornell (4-0) remained unbeaten with a five-hit, complete-game shutout for Faulkner. The senior lefty also had eight strikeouts.

Tara Ammons went 2-for-3 and scored while Shelby Brown was 2-for-4.

Faulkner will take on former conference rival Coastal Georgia at 11:15 a.m. tomorrow.
