WEST POINT, Ga. - Faulkner (45-5) wrapped up non-conference play here tonight with a 7-5 victory over Point University (26-22).

Luis Duran anchored the Eagles' four-run second inning effort with a three-RBI double while Reese Cooley's two-run homer in the fifth put the visitors ahead 6-1.

Faulkner tacked another run on the board in the sixth, but the Skyhawks countered with a two-run shot of their own, courtesy of Carnegy Calzado.

Point went on to score two more runs on as many singles in the eighth frame.

Andrew Carter (3-0) allowed a single earned run on three hits over the first five innings of play to tally the win.

Brandon Suttles got the save while booking a strikeout and allowing no hits over the finale 1 1/3 innings.

Reid Long went 2-for-2 at the plate while Rusber Estrada and Wes Roberson were 2-for-3. All three players also scored a run.

Gage West was 3-for-5 and scored as well.

Faulkner closes out the regular season this weekend with a three-game Southern States Athletic Conference series against Martin Methodist. The two teams will face off in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday with a single contest slated for the same time on Saturday. The Eagles will also honor their 16 seniors in a special ceremony following Game 2 Friday evening.
