Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Faulkner (37-3, 13-2 SSAC) rolled through No. 11 William Carey (25-13, 10-5 SSAC) 10-0 in 5 1/2 innings here Saturday afternoon before completing the Southern States Athletic Conference sweep with 6-5 and 15-3 victories this afternoon in seven and eight innings, respectively.

The No. 1 Eagles scored in all but the first inning of the opener while Tyler Thornton (5-0) dominated the Crusaders from the mound with a seven-strikeout effort while allowing just two hits.

William Carey punched in three runs in its first at-bat in the second event, but Faulkner answered promptly with a four-run second inning and ultimately solidified the win with a two-run fourth.

Tyler Tungate got the start on the hill and surrendered four earned runs on seven hits while striking out six batters over 3 1/3 innings.

The victory went to Alex Carrillo (3-0) who secured 2 2/3 shutout innings in mid relief while surrendering just two hits and striking out a pair of batters.

The final bout looked much like the first with the Eagles scoring early and often, tallying 15 runs on 14 hits.

Braden Olive (3-0) picked up the final decision with five shutout innings through the heart of the contest where he allowed just two hits while striking out four batters.

Luis Duran was stellar going 6-for-8 with four RBIs and three runs in the series.

Austin Paschke went 4-for-4 and knocked in four runs and scored four times in today's doubleheader.

Faulkner next travels to Tennessee Wesleyan for a nine-inning game slated for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Eagles defeated the Bulldogs 7-2 previously this season.
