DECATUR, Ala. - Thirteenth-ranked and second-seeded Faulkner (44-12) slipped by seventh-seeded Bethel (15-36) 1-0 in elimination-game action on Day 2 of the Southern States Athletic Conference softball tournament here at the Wilson Morgan Softball Complex this afternoon.

Caity Jo Lee rocked a leadoff double in the second inning of the contest setting the stage for Maggie Tipton's RBI single just two batters later.

Lee and Taylor Nelson were both 2-for-3 in the outing and Lee scored the winning run.

Kendall Bennett went 2-for-2.

Caitlin Perry (19-5) picked up her second shutout against Bethel in the tournament after allowing just four hits and securing five strikeouts.

The Lady Eagles will now take on top-seeded Mobile in an elimination game set for approximately 5 p.m.
