Faulkner swept both ends of a doubleheader Saturday to finish off a three-game sweep of the visiting Wiley College Wildcats.

FAULKNER 14, WILEY 3

Wiley briefly took a 4-1 lead before Faulkner stormed back in the bottom of the third inning with a four-run rally. The Eagles added three more runs in the fourth, three in the sixth and four in the seventh to cap off the win.

Max Guzman (JR/Miami, Fla.) sparked the offense with a solo homer. Dejhard Kimbrough had a single, drove in two runs and scored three times. Hagen Holmstead (JR/Salt Lake City, Utah) had two hits including a double and scored four runs. Troy Black (SO/Dayton, Ohio) singled, drove in two runs and score three times.

Bo McClintock (JR/Beaver Creek, Ore.) drove in a pair of runs and scored three times. Myron Mebane (SR/Tallahassee, Fla.) singled twice and drove in three runs. Sam Anthony (JR/Columbus, Ga.) had three hits including a double and drove in two runs.

Evan Gillespie (JR/Princeton, N.J.) struck out 10 batters over five innings while scattering two hits and allowing one unearned run.

FAULKNER 8, WILEY 5

The Eagles trailed again in the second game, falling behind 3-0 before the bats came to life. Faulkner again scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning to turn the game around. Wiley scored a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to take a 5-4 lead. Faulkner rallied from behind with two in the fifth and two in the sixth for the win.

Guzman homered and drove in three runs. Te'kwaan Whyte (SR/Stone Mountain, Ga.) singled and scored. Jacob Freeland (SR/Cape Coral, Fla.) had two hits and scored a run. Holmstead doubled and scored. Troy Black singled. Trystin Raikes (JR/Ottawa, Ill.) singled and scored twice. Sam Anthony had a pair of hits, one RBI and a run scored. John Michael Mathews had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Jonathan Villa (JR/Ensenada, Mexico) drove in a run.

Zack Glines (JR/Dalton, Ga.) got the win while Heath Olive (JR/Birmingham, Ala.) struck out three over two innings for the save.

Faulkner (8-2) travels to Thomas University next weekend for a three-game series.
