After earning a split on day one, Faulkner suffered an unsightly sweep day two at Martin Methodist to drop the season series 3-1.

MARTIN METHODIST 4, FAULKNER 3

The Red Hawks won in walk-off fashion in game one as Sabrina Gilliam doubled to center before scoring on a Hannah Ward single for the 4-3 win. Martin Methodist started the scoring in the bottom of the second with Gilliam's third homer of the series for a 2-0 advantage.

The Lady Eagles got on the board in the third when Taylor Parker (JR/Corner, Ala.) singled before scoring on an Abbigail Barron (JR/Panama City, Fla.) hit to narrow the deficit to 2-1.

Ombreyah Daly added to the Martin lead in the fourth when she walked, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on a fielder's choice for the 3-1 lead.

Faulkner prevented the shutdown inning in the fifth when Parker hit a leadoff single and again scored on a Barron hit to make it 3-2. The Lady Eagles tied the game in the top of the sixth Maggie Tipton (JR/Selma, Ala.) turned a leadoff single into a two-out run to push the score to 3-3.

Ashton Fielding (JR/Rockford, Ala.) took the loss in her first pitching performance of the season, striking out two over six innings of work while allowing six hits and two walks.

Kaylee Davis picked up the win, fanning three and walking one while allowing seven hits in a complete game effort.

MARTIN METHODIST 10, FAULKNER 2

Faulkner opened game four of the series with a flurry before ultimately falling 10-2. The Lady Eagles tallied four hits and two runs in the first inning but managed only one more hit in the game as Martin reeled off a 10-0 run to wrap the scoring.

Caity Jo Lee (SO/Wetumpka, Ala.) hit a one-out single ahead of a Barron double. Kendall Bennett (JR/Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) followed with a single to left to drive in Lee for the 1-0 advantage. Fielding then doubled in Barron to move the lead to 2-0 before Faulkner's offense went cold and stranded two runners. Faulkner then left the bases loaded in the second inning before Martin turned the game around in the third. The Red Hawks used six hits including three doubles to score five runs in the frame and take a 5-2 lead.

Down 7-2 in the fifth, Faulkner again loaded the bases only to leave all three runners on board again, bringing the total to nine stranded in five innings of play.

Faulkner (6-7, 1-3 SSAC) plays again Friday at 3 p.m. when it begins a four-game series with William Carey.
