The Warriors used a seven-run third inning to take a 9-1 lead on Faulkner before Max Guzman (JR/Miami, Fla.) brought the thunder to change the complexion of the contest. The junior slugger drove a 3-0 offering over the batter's eye in center field into the trees to cut the deficit to 9-3. Te'kwaan Whyte (SR/Stone Mountain, Ga.) drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in Mebane and make it 9-5 before Marcus Ragan (SR/Vicksburg, Miss.)'s grounder plated Raikes to slice the deficit to 9-6. After Jacob Freeland (SR/Cape Coral, Fla.) walked for the second time in the inning, Guzman returned to the plate with thunder stick in hand. The Eagle first baseman needed to see only two pitches as he belted the second one over the fence in left center for a grand slam that put Faulkner on top 10-9.
