Faulkner saw its 12-game win streak come to a halt in game one Friday when it came up on the short side of a pitcher's duel before rallying to win an extra-inning shootout in the second tilt.

BREWTON-PARKER 1, FAULKNER 0

Morgan Parris singled to open the bottom of the second and scored on an error to account for the only run of the game. Faulkner tallied eight hits in the contest but stranded eight runners in the shutout loss. Julianne Wilkes (JR/Deatsville, Ala.), Brianna Cagle (SO/Decatur, Ala.), Ashton Fielding (JR/Rockford, Ala.), Kendall Bennett (JR/Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), Abbigail Barron (JR/Panama City, Fla.) and Taylor Parker (JR/Corner, Ala.) each hand a single.

Caitlin Perry (SR/Montgomery, Ala.) scattered six hits and a walk while striking out three in the loss. Rebecca Eddins fanned four and walked three for the win.

FAULKNER 8, BREWTON-PARKER 7

In game two, the Lady Eagles found the winning run in the top of the 10th inning when Abby Tindol (FR/Billingsley, Ala.) scored on an error. The Lady Eagles led 7-5 before BPC scored one in the sixth and another in the seventh to force extra innings.

Faulkner opened the scoring in the top of the first when Shelbie Burbage (SO/Prattville, Ala.) scored on an error and Fielding singled home Parker. Courtney Ray (JR/Montgomery, Ala.) singled home Bennett and Fielding in the third for the 4-0 lead. Faulkner added three in the fourth. Parker singled in Tara Ammons (SO/Prattville, Ala.). Bennett drove in Tindol and Parker with a single to center.

Bailey Whitfield (FR/Alabaster, Ala.) tossed a combined seven and two-thirds innings for the win. Perry worked two and a third innings of relief.

The teams resume play Saturday at 11 a.m. with a doubleheader.
